This concert the Minnesota Symphonic Winds celebrates the heritage of the wind band and its exciting future.  Our look forward will be highlighted by the premiere of a MSW–commissioned work by Twin Cities composer Shirley Mier in memory of Marc Fuller, a former member of our trombone section.  We will observe the 100th anniversary of American composer Norman Dello Joio with his magnificent Fantasies on Themes by Haydn. Grounding our program will be the classic transcription of Mikhail Glinka’s Russlan and Ludmilla Overture.

We will be featuring music by John Williams, Frank Ticheli, James Stephenson, Leroy Anderson, Jeff Simmons, Jack Stamp, and Alfred Reed.

Tickets for this event are: $6 for adults, $3 for children 12-5, under 5,  Students and children under 18 free.

We will also be holding our annual Silent Auction. Bidding begins at 2:30 before the concert. Bidding ends just before the end of intermission.

Edina High School is located at 6754 Valley View Road in Edina, just west of Hwy 100.
