Our guest conductor, Paul Kile from Edina HS, fills the evening air around the Normandale Lake Bandshell with band classics, folk tunes, Broadway hits, spirited dances and, of course, a classic march!

A Joint Concert with the Roseville Area High School Wind Ensemble

Great music has the power to tell a story or acknowledge human effort like no other medium. Noted educator and musician Matthew Dehnel will lead the Roseville Area HS Wind Ensemble in works by Saucedo, Maslanka and Hanson, as well as the MSW, which will contribute compositions by Stamp, Gandolfi, Ticheli and Boysen all in support of sharing tales and paying tribute. Rousing music by John Williams for the film Far and Away will resound as the two ensembles combine at the end to bring the concert to a glorious conclusion.

Halloween Treats from the Minnesota Symphonic Winds

The Minnesota Symphonic Winds in a 3rd return engagement to this stunning new concert venue of the south metro donates its services to provide musical treats for a special concert guaranteed to cause a fright or two. From the classic sounds of Orff’s epic Carmina Burana and de Meij’s depiction of the wizard Gandalf from his Symphony No. 1 “Lord of the Rings,” the imaginative repertoire will have visions dancing before one’s eyes. Also featured will be music from Webber’s Phantom of the Opera and Whitacre’s rather amazing Godzilla Eats Las Vegas. Our MSW Big Band will provide great sounds for the reception afterward. Costumes recommended!!
